WHY CHOOSE ST. BERNARD FOR YOUR ESL SUMMER EXPERIENCE?
- Not only will students receive 3 full weeks of English language instruction, they will have the opportunity to spend and entire week at the world famous Space Camp. The U.S. Space and Rocket Center is home to Space Camp and Aviation Challenge. Trainees attending fighter pilot training to learn leadership skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making. Space Camp trainees put their skills to the test as they train to live and work in space and take command of their own simulated space shuttle missions. Aviation Challenge trainees spend an exciting and educational week in the great outdoors training like military fighter pilots as they plan missions and fly high-performance jet simulators. Come experience the ultimate classroom! Students may select a track of their choice from the following selections: Space Track, Robotics Track or Aviation Track.
SPACE CAMP AT THE WORLD FAMOUS U.S. SPACE AND ROCKET CENTER!- FUN! FUN! FUN!
- Weekend trips to major U.S. cities such as Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; and other points of interest. These weekend trips will provide students with the opportunity to experience American culture first-hand by visiting such places as CNN, the World of Coca-Cola, and the Georgia Aquarium.
WHERE IS ST. BERNARD?
The USA! Come and join us on the beautiful 800 acre campus of St. Bernard Prep School, Cullman, Alabama. St. Bernard is located 50 miles north of Birmingham, the largest city in Alabama, 50 miles south of Huntsville, home of NASA, the Marshall Space Flight Center and Space Camp, 150 miles south of Nashville, TN (also known as Music City, USA), and 150 miles west of Atlanta, GA.
DATES, TUITION, & FEES
Tuition includes ESL classes, books and materials for instruction, meals, boarding, health insurance, transportation to/from US airport, all weekend trips, and Space Camp fees. Students will need to bring personal spending money ($500-$1,000)
- Senior Program - Grades 9-11
- Junior Program - Grades 7-8
- Application Fee - $100 (non-refundable) Deadline is April 15, 2012
- July 22-August 18, 2012
- TOTAL COST $7,200 per student
*Students may have the option of attending 4 weeks of ESL Instruction in place of 3 weeks ESL instruction and one week of Space Camp. The cost is the same.
TRANSPORTATION AND VISA
Student may fly to Birmingham or Huntsville, AL, USA. St. Bernard will provide transportation to and from these two airports.
Visa Options:
- F-1 - Students who plan to remain in the US for study at St. Bernard or another institution must obtain and F-1 visa prior to attending summer program.
- B-2 - Students who only plan to attend summer program may have the option of obtaining a B-2 visa.
- Please consult with our repective country's embassy to determine which visa to obtain.

- Applicants must submit (by email) the following completed forms by 4/15/2012:
- Application Form
- Health Form
- $100 Application Fee (wire transfer)
- English teacher recommendation letter
- Copy of passport identification
- The St. Bernard Review Committee reviews the application
- Family notified of decision within 2 weeks of receipt of materials
- Upon acceptance, full payment via wire transfer by 5/15/2012
