Alumni golfers keep title

Jim Smith, Mel Smith, Jerry Sullivan, Dick Zimmer and Br. Jacob Amos remained the overall winners for the second year in a row at the St. Bernard Alumni Golf Tournament.  The four man team placed the winning bid for the All Star Monk golfer, Br. Jacob.    More than 60 players ranging from just graduated down to the class of 1955 participated along with Prep School sponsors and supporters.

Golfers started the day with refreshments at Chesley Oaks, and the shotgun start at 9:00.  Triple digit temperatures could not defray those serious enough to claim the trophy for St. Bernard's best golfing team.

Special events during the day for ladies included the closes to the pin hole #3, and Long drive hole #7.  For the men closes to the pin hole #15, long drive hole #18.  Other prize holes included a hole in one at #8 to win a new car, and par 3 holes if aced had prizes.
